A buddy and I bought a 2002 EX Coupe with 150k miles. Her (now) ex boy friend ran it out of oil and cylinder number two threw a rod bearing, crank was smoked and she decided to sell it and buy a new civic (2009 2dr auto). My buddy and I replaced the motor with one that had 102k on it. While we had it apart we did the clutch, timing belt, water pump, basic tune up stuff, rear 02 sensor, radiator was replaced,and a lower ball joint. The car has a few dents and dings nothing major, and the underneath is very clean for being an Ohio car. We scrubbed carpet and hit the outside with a clay bar and a good buff with a foam pad. I have been selling the car as having a new clutch, and other parts that I replaced but havent mentioned the lower mile motor as I feel it may turn some people off. The battery light is on and after going through all of alldatas checks, and reading on here and other forums, I feel the issue is with the cluster. Battery and alternator are less than a year old and it charges great under as much electrical load as the car can put on it.
So what have you guys seen cars selling at with 150k, not show car shape but clean.

I think it would be dishonest to sell the car without mentioning it's a swapped motor, that would be my opinion.

I think you can even sue for that if they find out.

 

$4,000.00-4,500.00 and disclose as much information up front as possible.

 

I think its worth a solid 4400. If you have receipts from all the work that was done ,make sure you show it to potential buyers .
