Default power steering

so my pressure hose is leaking, and i want to take the belt off so the pump isnt running and causing fluid to go everywhere until i replace the hose. is that gonna hurt anything besides making it real hard to turn the wheel? also i have thought of doing a pump delete, and was wondering what type of manual steering box i could use on my 1992 GS-R.

I'm not too sure but i think you would have to take the whole pump out. I could be wrong.
Also the wheels not too hard to turn without ps but parallel parking is a little difficult if you got no muscles. lol

It will probably be harder to turn than a regular manual rack since you are pushing fluid through the pump.

You will push fluid back into the reservoir too, which will cause it to overflow and push fluid through the cap.

Overall, not the best answer to your problem. I'd just run it with the belt until you can get the hose fixed. Make sure you wipe any fluid off any painted surfaces, just in case.

You are not going to ruin anything by simply removing the belt. You will make the steering more difficult and it could cause you to have an accident if you can't steer the car quickly enough. Don't endanger other people on the road.
