I have an 88 wagon 4wd manual. When the car is cold it'll shift into all gears fine but when hot, it won't go into any gears especially 1st and I'll have to kind of slam it into gear but it won't grind. This just happened out of the blue just the other day. I replaced the clutch pedal spring which just broke and checked out the pedal assembly and tightened the clutch cable. I still need to change the tranny fluid to see if that will work but I don't know how that'll fix it. Also, someone told me it might be the clutch so would that seem plausible too? A member off hondacivicwagon told me to be wary because two days after this happened to him, his tranny and clutch blew up.
