Default Does anyone know anything about OBX headers?

Does anyone know anything about the quality and performance of OBX RACING SPORTS headers? I know that DC sports is the obvious choice but i'm on a seriously low budget, so i'm looking for a good price on a descent header. anyone know anybody who runs one (an obx)?

I suggest you wait and save up a little longer and get a decent header. From what I hear, OBX is crap...quality, fitment...everything.

many people have said fitment is horrible. Someone on clubsi bought one and it didn't fit and had to be sent back. I would look for one of the better headers used instead of buying the obx.

yea, OBX is a piece of shiet! i'm on a budget too and i know it sux running stock parts but trust me. Just want cuz ur gonna end up getting the cheap crap now and later on ur gonna get the real deal anways. So just wait and get some better headers. BTW, try to find them used, there's always sum1 out there selling their used dc 4-2-1 2 piece header for like $100-$200

I've gotta agree with everybody else here that OBX stuff is complete garbage. OBX is a company based here in the Bay Area. The funny thing is, I heard the guy who owns this company started off by selling his stuff at the San Jose flea market...that oughta tell you something...

Although they may look the same outside, that doesn't mean they are the same on the inside. The welds could be really messing up the flow on the inside and there could be more constriction and stuff in there too. Of course, this is all speculation... an independant dyno is the only way to know for sure.

Obviously I've searched and didn't find too RECENT info. I know the bandwagon (and there are a LOT of bandwagons here on HT) is to say OBX is garbage and to get the good stuff. That opinion is great, but I only plan to keep the car another year and wanted to squeeze a bit more power out before I do.

Has anyone or PERSONALLY know someone who has bought some recently OBX header(s) and their experience? I'm function over fashion so it can look like ***... but it it makes power, fits good, and doesn't crack... I'll be sold.

I have had OBX stainless headers on my 95 LS for about a year now and I love em. Great fit and they still look pretty decent ( I know looks don't matter much ). I will say that the stock USDM LS Cast Iron headers are WAYY heavier then OBX s.s. headers and more restrictive too. I'm not sayin that OBX is a GREAT company by any means BUT for me their headers were wayy worth it for the money. Good power gain (low end-torque). No cracks. Good welds. I'd say that some of you guys (not all ) are just jumpin on the ol bandwagon here and you don't even have any personal experience with OBX.

Well I never said I would put OBX on an ITR. Thats like putting 87 octane in an ITR. LOL I have a crappy high mileage LS so puttin OBX headers on my car a year ago isnt too bad. I was just looking for a cheap alternative to those nasty stock cast headers.

nobody cares for "stories" about OBX, first hand facts would be helpful... but not "stories", those stories are just falling off the bandwagons circling H-T.
