I've searched and it tell me that I haw to buy specialty mounts to put any kind of man trans in my 94 civic. The guy I bought I from along with a few others have told me that I don't. I just want some clarity from those who have done it. Bc this is fairly new to me. My plans are to drop a b series in the near future. Any kind of info will help guys. Thanks.

yes you will need it if your car is an auto and your converting to manual transmission. if you dont get it the motor will sit uneven

Or just get the proper OEM manual mounts

 

you can use a manual transmission mount on the auto but like i said itll sit crooked. i know, ive done it already. on the auto chassis the bracket that holds the upper mount on the transmission side sits back and higher than the manual.

 

He will using the manual mount to MANUAL trans..

 

i know buts his car is auto, meaning he will still need to use an auto to manual mount or drill out the welds for the mounts bracket and weld in a manual one

 

you need the auto to manual mount because on manuals the mounting point on the car is level with the frame rails and on autos the mounting point is angled up about 2 inches fit fit the larger transmission...... Ive done this swap 2 times in the last year, once i drilled and welded the mounting point, the other i used innovative auto to manual mount. I would just spend the extra money on the mount if you have it or cant weld

As already stated by delsolo and nickeg, get the auto to manual mount. OEM manual mounts will not work. I have done this as well. This custom mount is taller than OEM mount, so that the engine will not sit crooked.

 

Yep. Either do that or drill all the spot welds out of the pocket mount welded to the frame and weld on the manual version so you can use the OEM manual mount (I've always used this method, done 3 of these conversions now)

 

ahh, didnt know u needed to change out the frame mount.. whoops. thot it dropped in like the 96-00

 

live and learn. I thought it was the same for the 96-00...I never done it on that one yet, just my 95

 

I just did this as well. The best place to find a mount is on ebay. I paid 80, compared to 180.

 

that will work if you drill out the spot welds on the passenger frame rail bracket and put a 5spd frame rail bracket back in its place
