Default Start Up Issues

I figured I would ask here as I am starting to see some start up issues. What occurs is the car will crank but will either not turn over or if it does I have to give it some gas. I am thinking it is the fuel pump or injectors no? My reason for that is that I step on the gas to help the motor from killing out. Once the motor is on, I have no issues. Thoughts?? Ideas?? I do use premium fuel from Hess or Sunoco and it occurs regardless if the tank is full or 1/2. The reason for premium is I am boosted. I hate self diagnosing

See what your fuel pressure is, use a gauge to the top of the fuel filter.

Sorry I forgot to mention that. Yes, I did just replace it and it is now worse. It was random before I swapped it out with a new one. I think you are referring to this, no? I threw the original one out that was in the car too :-(. It was $80 from Honda.

I think what I should try, is turn the key to position 2 for the fuel to prime, wait a sec or two, and then try to turn the motor on?

Ok so I let it prime for a sec or two longer and car starts right up, no problem... interesting.

You have to check fuel pressure at the filter or rail to see if the check valve in the fuel pump is bleeding off, your symptoms kinda sound inline with that problem. After you turn the vehicle off the check valve is supposed to hold fuel pressure for the next startup.
You will exibit these symptoms your stating and others when this is not functioning correctly. If your pressure bleeds off you will probably be looking into replacing the assy.

There is no letting it prime for longer,
The ecu applies power to the fuel pump for 2000ms(2sec) on key position #2,

unless you just slam the key in it and just go straight to start, which shouldnt be a problem.

Yea I was thinking that but the fuel pump is new, probably 3K miles on it. Its a WALBRO 255LPH. I never heard of them having this issue new?

My injectors are old and used, thinking I should send them out?

I should probably replace the fuel filter as well. I am not sure if it has ever been replaced and the car is at 136K miles.

In regards to that, I typically do place the key in and go right to start. When I did it before I waited those 2 seconds...lol

Clean your throttle body, check the iacv. If your car was not getting any fuel i doubt it would start at all. Have you driven this car btw.. if so, how far? noticed anything weird as you are accelerating/decelerating?

You MUST provide all pertinent information about your car and engine. Failure to do so may result in thread closure.
