Default I Need More Light

I need to get some more lighting for my garage during those times I am working on my car at night... Something portable and not too expensive. I've seen those handhelp/hanging lights that mechanics use, but do not know where to find them (I'm looked at Sears and a few auto places).

Anybody know where to find them or have any other suggestions? Is there a good free standing solution that anybody uses?

i hung some floresect(sp?) lights from my garage right above where my hood would be when parked. i hung 2 one on in both bays. it is all the light i could need.
it just those work bench style ones. the bulbs were $1 each ad the fixtures are like 10. so i bought 10 so i always have them

I'm in the same position. The cheapest way to go is flourescent from like Home Depot or whatever. And the bulbs last longer too....

Buy the "heavy duty service" bulbs, they last much longer. Normal bulbs are not designed to take impact or movement. I have been using the same bulb in my service lamp for 2 years now and it hasn't burnt out.

EDIT: I agree though, the flourescent lamps are better cause they don't get too hot.

Go to sears. They should have. They carry the red craftsman floresant lights for 10 20 and 30 dollars depending on what size you buy. I got two of them, works great.

Edit:I can't type for shiz

In the winter these also double as heaters.

If you're working under your car, these might be better suited.. These are also flourescent halogen replacements, and are cooler (so you won't burn yourself) and they're suppoed 85% more energy efficient.
