JDM ITR CW COLOR CODE ???????
My 96 spec R was repainted here in the states to USDM CW and in the door jams it was still the original JDM CW. You could tell a difference in color. The JDM CW was brighter, more like taffeta white and the US CW is more creamy. I was shocked myself but who knows.
The colors are the same. Period.
USDM and JDM have the same code and were manufactured at the same plant. I have multiple JDM parts; both brand new OEM factory painted (bumper cover/grill) and used (door/fenders) and they all match the USDM parts perfectly.

I too have heard of this. But if both colors are the same code then it is the same color. HOWEVER....even factory painted vehicles will slightly vary in variation from car to car of the same color.
If you were to look up your color code in lets say a Mitchell Paint system (automotive paint calculator) depending on the color it could show multiple variations of the same color as per that specific color code.
For instance Im painting over my front and rear bumper and its showing 4 different variances of NH-0. Car to Car it will look the same but if you were to say swap hoods or doors you may be able to tell a slight difference panel to panel.

This has come up so many times. I have owned both a USDM 97 CW ITR and currently own 2 JDM 98 spec CW ITR. They are the exact same color. Whites always yellow if not taken care of properly and a door jam isn't a great area to compare as it does not age the same as color exposed to the elements. NH-O is championship white in every country. Like, BigStu just stated, there are several factors that could influence slight differences from car to car.
i know im new to this and you where to at one time ........ i bought a JDM onversion and they told me to paint my car JDM CW my guy from JAPAN told me it was a different color code thats why i ask and made a new thread... thanx DR DC2 FOR THE HELP looks like a new thread MADE SENCE
Paint quality and variations will alter the shade. Also, plastics such as bumper covers will be slightly off color even when the entire car is painted at the same time. Ask a professional painter if you have doubt.
x2. paint on plastic and metal will look slightly different. even when you take a good look at new cars you can see a little bit of a difference. Like the other guy said, there are many variations to the same paint code, but when i painted my car just went with standard. Also different paint (brand) will show as well. If you compare like an omni to a diamont you can see the difference right away. I personally go with diamont paint, seems to match best with the oem factory paint
