What is this part connected to my motor mount.
I'm replacing the rear beam in my 1991 Accord EX wagon and I have it out of the car now.
I've also removed the rear beam from my parts car -- which I think is a 1992 Accord EX wagon (but perhaps it's a 1990 ??).
Anyway the cracked rear beam has a part attached to the motor mount and it has a vacuum connection AND a connection to the power steering system.

The rear beam from the parts car doesn't have this part -- it doesn't even have the place to bolt on the part?

I could swap the motor mount from the cracked rear beam to the new one -- but the rubber in the mount attached to the cracked rear beam is bad ...
The parts Accord has a two-part axle on the left side.
The 1991 Accord I am driving has a single long axel on the left side.
Does anybody know if the two-part axle on the parts Accord means it's a 1992.

This looks like the right replacement part (it mentions that it includes a "solenoid")

The part needs to be special-ordered ... and right now I don't have any working car ... so I'm trying to figure out if there's a practical way to effectively piece something working with what I have. With that in mind if I use the motor mount from the parts car can I just remove the solenoid device from the old motor mount and hook it up an leave it unattached?

I think its a vacuum actuator like on a wasteagte. I think only automatic cars have it. I have a 95 lx wagon I just did a manual transmission swap on and the auto mount was like that but my rear beam has the holes to accept the manual mount. I know the rear mount is also different for the manual trans 5th gen ex but im not sure if it has an actuator like that.
it might be helpful to check out a parts diagram at hondaautomotiveparts.com

Thanks for that tip.
It's been so long since I drove the parts car I had forgot it was a standard!
I see that solenoid as a standard part on motor mounts for automatics.
I was able to order the motor mount from autozone this afternoon and they say they'll have it tomorrow (Sunday) at 10 in the morning.

its for the ac. thats what mine is for. when you turn on the ac i think the motor mount stiffens. its to keep the car from shaking bad, i believe the 94 and up accords had them as well. if you notice remove that vacuum turn on the car turn on the ac and you should probably feel or hear vacuum
I had just replaced my same mount as well on my '91 LX wagon. It's to stiffen the mount under acceleration. Just to get by you could plug the vacuum tube that goes to it if you are using a mount without the little solenoid. But looks like you got one coming anyway. Got mine at AZ as well. These are such a PITA to get at I wonder how much longer the OEM one would last. $280 is a big chunk for a mount you can get for $60 from a parts store. I'm on my second rear mount from AZ.

I have a picture of the manual somewhere, If i can, I'll post here the description. It's the same for 94 honda accords on.

According to the shop manual, that is it. When the car idles that thing unpumps and makes itself softer. When the car is driving, it will stiffen to let the power run smoothly to the wheels while the vibration is directly taken by the car's suspension.
