has anyone ever tightened a couple head bolts to fix oil leak?
I just put my 98 gsr motor in and it leaked a lot of oil. The valve cover gasket and oilpan gasket both leaked so I changed them. Fixed those issues but I'm still leaking oil from the driver side. It coming from between my head and block. Its leaking all in my timing belt cover and down the front of my motor. Has any one ever developed a problem like this and solved it by torqing down the heal bolts in the are of the leak? Or will that just make things worse? It runs great just leaks hella oil. I just don't want to change the head gasket if I don't have too lol thanks
No. Just replace the head gasket, there are torque settings for the head bolts if there in spec and it's leaking don't take a chance just replace it.
I usually put a light coat of Hondabond on the corners, outside of the oil drain passages to keep that from happening when I put a head back on. For some reason, the corners on the exhaust side like to weep.
I would check to make sure both your cam seals are in place before changing the headgasket. Or you did not torque the headgasket to spec.
