I have a 93 hatch with a jdm ITR engine and tranny. I don't know what half shaft it has, but my driver side axle started clicking so I replaced it with a 98 integra axle. It seems to fit and clicks into place but then wobbles just enough to be noisy. The noise is worse when turning right. The half shaft spines look ok but have flat edges and I can't remember if that is normal. Should I buy a new half shaft and axle and start over or is there something I am missing?

 

It's probably just a bad axle. Autozone replacements are notorious for vibration issues.

Wobble in the hub or wobble in the tranny? Could be a bad input shaft bearing in the tranny.

 

Half shaft is solid, at least in the tranny. The axle wobbles on the half shaft.

 

They will exchange it, but you might want to just return it and buy one elsewhere.
