Icon6 Carbon fiber:wet to dry

What would have to be done to make a wet carbon peice have that dry look? Wet sand, dry sand etc? And would it affect the strength and quality of the carbon itself?

He is referring to changing the look of the carbon fiber from the first picture to the second picture.

Just wet sand it. If you don't hit the fibers, you won't affect the strength.

He's asking about dry carbon fiber, like this...

Kevlar is an entirely different material.

Grey scotchbrite and you can use a scuffing paste from a auto paint store. use it wet and it will clean and scuff at the same time and help adhesion. when you scuff keep moving in a circular motion dont just scuff the same spot over and over. and keep your finger together and use more of your palm. you dont need to wet sand. after scuffing rinse with water. then use a water based cleaner like rapid prep and a blue shop towel. make sure its completely clean use a tack rag to remove any lint. do not press to hard with the tack rag. then fill paint gun do a quick blow off with the air then clear.
