I know on my prelude the only time the oil light ever comes on is when it is lower than 1 quart of oil... That being said I also had the problem where it was leaking oil out at the oil sensor on the back of the block which I believe is normal on some of the more used engines. So if I were you I would check your oil see if your lower than a quart of oil, then if you were I would probably just change your oil, and then monitor it frequently and see what happens also you said it was puffing smoke out the tail pipe what color is it?

Alright, it might be leaking a very small amount of oil, If it is black chances are it is time for an oil change. When is the last time it was changed? I would change the oil first off. Also does it just poof the smoke at idle if it does and doesn't do it at higher rpms it could just be some worn out valve seals which means you would have to pull apart the head to replace.

If it's blue you're burning oil. If it's just grey-ish you're running rich and it's unburnt fuel (hydrocarbons) coming out.

You need to stop driving and maybe ride a bike from now on, you don't drive a car with an oil light on, by that point there is almost no oil left in the engine that should hold over 5qts.

How is it you know that the valve stem seals are bad? From everything I've read from other posts of yours I'd say you're guessing and don't really know where most of your oil is going. Maybe you should start with fixing any external leaks if there are any before making assumptions.

damn SKIPPY!!! I hope you checked all yours seals first prior to changing oil and TEST DRIVING it again. Or even removed the valve cover to double check seals, spark plugs, dizzy, just a few to give you an idea of where OIL MIGHT JUST BEING FLOWING from!!!!
