my birthday just came and i have some money to spend i really want new rims and tires but my car has over 200 thousand miles im trying to get feed back on what to do im worried if i put the money in rims and tires the motor could fail on me its going to be expensive if i take it somewhere to have somone go threw the motor and do a overhaul on it i would really like to tear it down myself but dont know enough about what im doing if i could get ahold of a gsr motor or b16 for cheap that would be awsome just trying to figure out what to do help me out

 

When was the last time you have done general maintenance? Plugs/Wires/Cap/Rotor/fuel filter/oilchange? Also was the timing belt ever changed?

 

has new plugs distributor wires oil change all of this i did im not to worried about the timming belt i hope it doesnt go if that goes the motor is done ive had the car for probably 6 months or so and dont know much of what was done to it before i got it i heard from previous owner that it was all highway miles and i hope it goes for another 100 thousand or so im worried about looks i want rims and tires but i would love to put cams gears and all that good stuff but i dont know anything about motor work i know about body and paint i did it for 2 years but no motor knowledge and if i was going to mess with the motor i would want to do it myself to save money

 

Ook, well have you thought about suspension? That always comes first before wheels anyday. i would get a nice set of coilovers, drastically changes looks and the way your car drives. And I dont mean cheap eBay crap, something KYB/Ground control or maybe a Koni/Skunk2 setup, or function/form, all good setups. you can get some f&fs for around $550 shipped

 

i forgot to say but i have over 1200 dollars in suspension im rollin on skunk 2 pro c thats why i want rims and tires bc im riding on stock ls wheels what would you recomend for rims my car is a blue green i want chrome but i have some friends that said no chrome is gay i have a buddy that has same car as me color and everything and he has black rims and i dont know if i like them to much i just dont want to get something i will regret getting

 

well if u buy wheels and tires u can always pull em off and use em on the next car

 

i want to go as big and as wide as i can go without having to role the fenders

 

Don't get chrome. Also how low are you? I got KYB AGX shocks with H&R Race springs, and 17x7 wheels with a 215-45 tire and Im about to roll my fenders because thier shredding my tires as a result of me being so low
