NGK Spark Plug Wires - Which Part #??
I'm freshening up the engine bay of my stock 95 Civic LX (D15B7) and wanted to get some NGK wires to replace the old Prestolites.
1st Attempt: Looked up the application on NGK's website which called for HE71 wires. Coils are too long and stick out of the valve cover. Returned to Amazon.com.
2nd Attempt: Looked up application on RockAuto.com and double-checked at Amazon -- HE76. Okay, these ones fit onto the spark plug and are the right length, but the dust boot is too small and does not cover the spark plug hole. The internal seal that keeps the coil from wobbling around inside the hole is also too small. Returned to Amazon.com.
I'm reading now that NGK wires spec'ed for older generation Civics (88-91) fit here, which is NGK part HE53. This is the next thing I will try.
Can anyone confirm that this part # works on their D15B7 motor?

Why not goto your local auto parts store and get the NGK's that you can test fit in the parking lot? seems a helluva lot easier then then you waiting 2-3 weeks for a set after buying and returning.

The HE53 wires work great and fit great. Thanks for everyone's input.
Not sure what happened with the HE71 and HE76. Perhaps the "right" part # happened to be the wrong part in the right box??
I'm also happy that these new wires are 8mm and are replacing some 7mm Prestolites.

They're close to OEM, not quite as good though. Temple of vtec compared them to old *** stock 15 year old OEM wires years ago on a dyno. 15 year old OEM wires made slightly more power than brand new NGK wires.
