Default Over Extended Inner CV Joint. Boot still good - Will Not go back in. Help!!!

I was replacing the outer cv boot and in the process of pulling out the axles, I over extended the inner CV joint. I have tried to push it back in and tapping it slightly after aligning it but will not go back in. I boot is still good.

Is there any special way it has to go back in ?

Thanks

Waid

Pop the axle out of the transmission. wiggle the inner joint around and it will go back into place.

If it doesnt then one of the bearings might have fell off the end there are 3 of them.. Keep doing it you might have to take the boot off and put it on then put the boot back on..

I've done this once and had to twist the outer part slightly while pushing it and it seated itself.
