why does my car smell after driving fast
whenever i give my civic a thrashing just for fun to hit vtec a few times after i park i notice a smell not exactly like gasoline i cant really tell what it is do you guys have any advice on how to fix this or is it normal for an older car (95 civic ex coupe)
Nice avatar, nice first post.
No one can tell you anything unless you can describe the smell. Does it smell sweet? Does it burn your nose? Does it burn your eyes?

OP doesn't even know what it smells like.
Is the CEL off? Are your brakes firm, smooth, and quiet? Is the clutch firm, smooth, and quiet? Are you getting 28-32 MPG? Are your oil, coolant, brake fluid, and clutch fluid levels within normal ranges?
If you answered yes to all of these questions, don't worry about it.

The gasket at my collector slipped out when the bolts fell out, I noticed could smell the exhaust fumes when that happened. Wouldn't hurt to make sure you don't have an exhaust leak.
I highly suspect that it is one of his belts that are slipping under heavy acceleration and as such, one of your pulleys may need to be adjusted so that the tension in the belt will be tightened..

Like i said before. Your cat (catalytic converter) if it smells like sulfur. Smells like gas could be injector orings. Smells like oil check to make sure your filter is tight and you have no leaks coming from any gaskets. Your eyes are your best tools. Meow
