Default Is H-B really my only option?

I have a H22 boosted coupe that puts down 528whp and 408tq. Currently I am rocking the H trans. I put in carbon syncros along with a MF factory diff. This weekend at the track after my first pass as I came around to the return road there was a bunch of knocking going on. My guess is it's either the diff or my final drive that took a crap. What should I do? I really dont want to go H2B that would mean I would have to change out the DSS axels, my twin disc that's like brand new and pretty much start over. Any suggestions? Here is a link to the video In the end if you listen closely you can hear the grinding.

No H2b is not your only option. BUt there is more aftermarket support for B boxes and it WOULD improve your alignment, howewever despite rumor, the B tranny is NOT stronger than an H. Period.

Does it do it only when the car moves?
Does it do it in neutral
Does it GO AWAY when you press i the clutch?

at 408 TQ youre at the limits of a HOnda OEM tranny if your car weighs anything and hooks, I know this.

If you really dont want to go H2B, there are options for the H case as far as garsets. Ive broken everything but my diff thus far. Including ring gears, but most often 4th gearsets foillowed by second gearsets, followed by 3 ring/pinions, followed by one 3rd set.

You need a gearset honestly it sounds lke. I pmed you in regard to what we have going on. OIll check your response now.

The set Im talking about took 750 WHP and 575 tq in a 3100 Lb car with the **** kicked out of it. It would work for you.

I am pretty sure it does it when the car moves. I took the trans out last night and this is what I found. Not looking so good

Broken 3rd :O) well played. I have a nunmber of third gearsets laying around. LMK if you want one ;O).

Both gears. Looks like all you need. Syncro looks worn too, sits really flat on the gear, but I got alot of that crap lying around. I can throw a set in a flat rate box on the cheap.

I called and left a VM sir ;O)
