1996 Accord h22 idles rough....
Hey guys, I just finished my obd1 h22 swap into my 96 accord and am having a small issue that I can not figure out. The car starts and runs but it idles very rough. It will stay at 700-800 rpms at idle after it warms up but the motor shakes pretty bad. I know it's not normal but I can not figure out what is causing it. I double checked my wiring and all is good, I am only throwing one code 22(vtec pressure switch) which I knew was going to happen. This will be taken care of when I get my chipped p28. Also when I turn the wheel all the way in one direction the motor almost stalls(spelling??). I changed the front and side accord mount and put in a new driver side prelude mount so I do not think the mounts are bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys
Starmrdia was right, check for the vacuum first, and then check for MAP and MAF sensor, but I think it cause be vacuum because my accord had same issue as you, after idling the car shake shake super bad, black smoke came out, and it stall out after while. Gluck
I will check for a vac leak tomorrow but I am unsure about it. I put all new hoses on when I did the swap but I may have missed one. On another note, I do not have any discolored smoke coming out of the exhaust and it does not bog out on me. It ran great when I took it out of my prelude to put it in the accord so I know the motor is good. Thanks for the info guys and I will post what I find tomorrow.
Got it all running today and going to the muffler shop tomorrow to have the exhaust cut and welded. Then dropping it off to get tuned. Pretty damn excited
