crx with d16z6 with hf dizzy....but it messes up my timing..
i have a crx 91 hf.. with d16z6 motor..hf harness/distributor and crx si computer...... it runs but messes up my timing.. i have a crx si distributor and z6 distributor ... a jumper harness.... which way should i go and whats left to to.... it runs ... but it sucks driving it like that... i dont got a p28 ecu.. but i do have a vtec contoller ... just to engage vtec..( i also have a jumber harness obd0 to obd1 ).. i bought this car like this... i just want to make it run like it needs to be... any graphs would help... or ways to do it
thanks

I suggest you use the z6 distributor, and get a P28 ECU, then you will be running a stock z6 (I assume you are using the z6 intake manifold, etc.). I am not sure what sort of adapter harness you have. Places like www.rywire.com (and others) sell all the haness adapters you need, or you can make them yourself.
the best option would b to use the z6 dizzy and find a p28 ecu. next best option would b z6 dizzy and crx si ecu. you always want to match your dizzy to the engine. and match the obd of the ecu with the engine for best results. example- y8 would want a y8 dizzy and a obd2 ecu, d16a6 would b a6 dizzy and obd0 ecu, and so on. you get the picture.
^ Dude, you need to go the **** away with your misinformation and post padding.
Here's the situation OP: You have a VTEC motor, possibly OBD-1, definitely MPFI, with a harness intended for a Non-VTEC carb'd motor, and a Non-VTEC distributor and ECU. Basically, you have big cluster**** on your hands likely "slapped together" by someone like Mr. HotCheetos above.
If I were in your situation, here's the list (in order) of what I would be doing:
1. Gather the correct parts
- A6 Dizzy
- OBD-1 VTEC ECU (P28)
- OBD-1 O2 Sensor
2. Check the wiring harness to ensure that the MPFI conversion was done correctly
- Search for a write-up on this, there are many out there
3. Ensure VTEC is wired properly (will have to add wires to your existing harness)
4. Install mentioned parts plus the jumper harness and verify timing
5. Fire it up and verify timing with a timing light

Gather the correct parts
- A6 Dizzy
- OBD-1 VTEC ECU (P28)
but since he is running a Z6 engine wouldnt it b better to get a Z6 dizzy with 2 jumpers? the dizzy jumper and the ecu jumper. also it is a obd-1 engine, i dont think there was any other z6 that wasent obd 1. correct me if i wrong tho.

yea thats was i was thinking too just get a p28 .. and get the 2 jumpers....look at this video... itz a full z6 swap..... i have p28 dizzy.. and jumper harness for it ... i just made a dizzy harness too obd0 to obd1.... .... can i run full z6 with no p28 .. and using the pm6.. should it even start ... cuz i tried and it turn on, then off. it doesnt pass 2rpm.... i forgot to let everyone thats it has high compression pistons...........so i need all that help i can get..... heres a video with it running off the pm6.....it throws code 16 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmGWb...9rcJNON1UOxuY=
hate to agree with hotCheetos but the hf is mpfi, not carb. And as far as the claim to ls dizzy and pm6, he probably just mis timed it and got lucky or something. a tooth off on cam timing and a few degrees off on the dizzy can do some weird stuff. but anyways back to the problem. it is starting to sound like a misfire, not a timing issue. use a p28, z6 dizzy and nessacery jumpers, verify timing. once that is done run a spark test and make sure your spark plugs are good. if all good there go to fuel delivery. clogged fuel filter, or injectors. low fuel pressure. also look at the air intake, clean air filter?
