so i swapped an h22 into my ej1 its a full h22 jdm swap, and i am running a chipped p72, but when i start the car it idles normal, and if i rev it up the idle air control valve turns the idle up and it starts idling like its loping and if i rev it up again usually it will go back to normal...

but when its idling funny you can hear the car sucking in air through the intake hardcore, and when it idles normal, it just sounds like a normal motor...

i have turned the idle air control valve duty down to -50 in crome and i have also disabled it but i know crome suck and it doesnt disable it but it still does its funny crap...

and also its not hitting vtec even tho its wired up for it, but that could just be that the vtec solenoid is dirty so ill have a look at that later, i dont run the vtec pressure swtich i disable that in crome and run 1 wire vtec ...

anyone have any ideas on my idle problems ?

 

You try cleaning it? If that doesn't work, try a different one.

 

no i havent tried cleaning it yet, it seems to be working, but it just opens up and makes the car idle all funky

 

In the Prelude forum there is an FAQ on bouncing/ surging idle. I suggest you look that over.

 

fixed it... there is some sort of fast idle valve on the drivers side of the intake manifold on usdm h22's i just unhooked the vacume line and capped the port and it went away
