Default edelbrock performer x or skunk2 b20vtec??

Hey im kinda new to h-t although ive been with this site for a couple years im rarely on. Anyways, i have a bone stock motor (b20 bottom end gsr head) and im running a skunk2 pro series intake at the moment. Im wondering if the performer x will be better then the skunk2 for the motor. Im running a comptech header also if that helps. Any knowledgeable info will be appreciated. thanks

you act like back to back dyno testing a $500 engine is something people do often.

b20's are the poor man's special and in stock form rarely get tested. i don't know if i've ever seen a dyno comparison on a stock b20 with a manifold swap.

that performer x is worth almost as much as your entire engine LOL

The victor X seems to be the better of 2 n/a anyway, for boost, skunk 2, heres a good thread comparing the performer x and the skunk 2, i know thier not exactly the same but it may help. Ls/vtec gsr head.

Get the Performer X and test them back to back. Easier said then done right? How much whp gains are you looking to gain with a bone stock motor? I can't even tell the gain of 10whp. LOL

if you're going to boost it, save the cash for better turbo parts. it's really not hard to spend 4000 on a decent turbo setup and your bottom end will be the limiting factor on how much power you make.

for the price of the performer x you could pay for half a a higher end turbo

cruise around the go autoworks site, probably the best bang for your buck in honda turbo parts these days

I'm about to check out that link. I'm not doing a all motor for the reason its a lot of money that I won't see substantial results as I would if I did 9lbs of boost. That's why I'm leaving the motor stock and just seeing which intake would be better. If it helps I have b16 1st and 2nd gear, gsr 3rd and 4th and ls 5th gear. I also havea gsr bottom end I'm gonna play with once I find a head for backup which is another reason I'm trying to figure his out.

if you already have the performer X use it. it's worth hp on a b18c over the s2 which is the only thing i have to base it on. unsure how that manifold would do boosted since everyone uses the victor boosted. i would keep both manifolds until you're on pressure. would be worth back to back testing

also a higher quality product, you have made is usa edelbrock VS made in china skunk 2

very smart not to go all motor, that's the expensive way to go slow.

Tim i concur, everyone tends to use Victor manifolds on boosted setups for a reason. You dont plan on revving the **** out of it, so the performer x will be fine. call it a day

oh yeah i def know that on all motor and slow lol. my buddy has a built teg and dont get me wrong, its fast but for all that money it couldve had alot more power with a turbo kit and a nice tune would made it very reliable. Very true bro, i wont be redlining daily forsure. I would say something about beating the s2k but i already know your comeback lol.

of course it will run better once tuned. you cant expect to just throw parts on an engine and expect magic to happen.
