Hi I have an 87 CRX and everytime i turn my car off it dies in a couple hours. i have looked all over online and all i can find is that its a power draw. BUT WHAT FROM??? anybody had this problem please help!

 

Try these steps:

-Hook up a Multi-meter (in ammeter setting) in SERIES on the ground or power side between the battery terminal and terminal connector.

-Keep an eye on your "parasitic draw"

-Anything aftermarket should be considered suspect first

-Start pulling fuses for major electrical components first.

-If a component is isolated and the draw goes down, check your wiring for short-to-grounds before the control side of the circuit.

-If the draw is still present, try isolating smaller sub-systems.

diagnosing electrical issues with an 87' civic/crx shouldnt be that difficult they are very basic compared to the new Acura's I work on at the dealership, with CAN-BUS systems, Multiplex control units (MICU's) and rediculous wiring routing.

thanks ill try that asap! but since then i have gotten a bigger problem. i am new to working on cars and am having some troubles. my car is not starting now due to another issue. check my other post and see if you have any thoughts about that!! it would be very much appreciated!
