AEBS good deal for Drag Racing?
I've been a search on AEBS and Darton Sleeves but didn't find my answer.
And I don't want to order and fit the wrong parts.
As far as my sleeves seems to be dead, I would like to buy a new B18 block for Drag Racing (700HP).
AEBS Sleeves with 84mm CP Pistons
Is it a good deal or do you advice me DARTON sleeves?
Thks

How could youre darton Mid sleeves be bad? they looked fine in youre picture. They will easily support 700hp +
What makes you think they are bad? Darton mids are a superior sleeve

have the block checked. if the machine work is correct but the sleeves were nto pressed in properly you can just get another set of darton sleeves and have them pressed in the correct way into your exsisting block. Chances are though if there sinking it wasnt done right to begin with
im going to advise against the aebs blocks. i had one a few years ago and had a lot of issues with hg sealing and the sleeve/deck height. i also had a friend that used an aebs block and he had similar problems.
ive switched to a benson block after that and its been absolutely incredible.
i would also not hesitate to go with a golden eagle block.

Maybe the existing sleeves could be corrected....talk to youre machine shop
Clearly a local shop did the job and probably messed something up. They 100% should not be sinking if installed correctly. There is extra machining involved with the darton mids. Hence why its usually slightly more to install. Darton mids have the upper flange on the sleeve to give the block support, basically giving you solid deck support vs the OEM cast in sleeve design which is open deck block and does not give any support in the upper deck area of the sleeve.. they also have a phosphate coating to prevents corrosion and rust (not that its super important) That picture you showed was darton mids maybe not the newest model but def darton mids
the other companies everyone else mentioned are good too. I opted for the mids w/ copper o-rings. After researching i felt it was worth the extra. i had it installed at Reliable machine shop who were very familiar with the darton mids and honda's . Again GE sleeves are a valid option as well. You could just send them the block, that way you dont have to worry about if there installing the sleeves incorrelty
