I have been trying to find a good place to re-tune my car. Please gimme some options.

I have a civic with a B18B1 swap running on crome. Previous dyno was done in Wired NJ, but its too far.

the closest one around us (i live in hamburg NY) would be either john donovan tuning in lancaster or innovative tuning in tonawanda. i heard john donovan is really good but theyre both the same price for a tune, about 400 bucks. im going to innovative soon to get mine tuned.

 

Hey guys, I live in wny also, I am building a turbo motor at the moment, I was going to have innovative tune it on crome, but i had never heard of John donovan before. Any particular differences between him or innovative? Why should I choose one or the other ?

John Donovan is a little sketchier but he might have a bit more experience on Honda's seeing as how he had one of the first lsvtecs that were made. But like I said, around the same prices for a tune. Just personal preference

chris, this is still a go so far it seems like it just maybe my self, but iam fine with that, last time we talked you said you could try to find a local dyno in my area, i would like to take this a step further car will be ready for a tune in a few weeks

i live in buffalo and have heard that donovan is good at tuning. i am towing my car to evans tuning in philly though bc i have s300.

didnt realize there were this many people from WNY on HT

I live outside buffalo and had my car tuned by John Donovan, he only tunes on crome though. I was fine with that as its cheap and works for what I have. He still has to take a look at my tune and fine tune it but its been running great so far. I have heard nothing but bad things about Innovative Tuning, I would stay away.

 

I have asked many people along with innovative if they know anyone closer that does tuning on Hondata, and they all say evans tuning. plus i already contacted him last summer/fall. he does an amazing and is well worth the tow (have my own truck and trailer) imo because i want to keep my s300.

John is the best tuner around. PM me for his contact info (I am in the same shop he is at). I can vouch for him along with many other members on here.

 

x2 for Rick, he did the engine build and tuning for my K20.

There are a few dynos in Rochester if you want to go that route. STM (DSM guys) have a Mustang Dyno. I'm not sure if Fountain Motorsports is still out in Webster, but they had a Dynapack setup.

 

J-K tuning in carlisle pa..... He has a reputation as good as evans, and it is the same distance, plus he is $200 cheaper FYI

 

+1 for j-k tuning. John kerr at innovative motorworks in carlisle, PA well worth it.

 

innovative tuning has been great for me so far they just did a full short block build for me and turbo install i should be tuning with them this week or next. There work is great, mike is a great guy to deal with along with all the other guys at the shop. I love going there!
