HELP!!! h22a swapped ek wont hit vtec
i just picked up a 2000 civic coupe with a jdm h22a. the wiring is a complete mess. the engine wasnt running correctly but i figured out that whoever did the swap, put the injector harnesses on the wrong injectors....dumb ***...anyway, vtec will not activate. i understand the wiring might be ****ed up a little bit, but i think i narrowed it down to either the coolant temp sensor, or wiring issues. the car is not in limp mode, just dosent hit vtec. if anyone has had the same issue with their swap please help.
what computer are you using? the prior owner could have cut the vtec wiring in the harness therefor you might just have to manually wire up for vtec yourself. best thing to do is find a new or used h deuce harness thats not ghetto rigged
p13, has vtec wired to it, but its throwing a vtec oil presure switch code...idk if thats because the wiring is wrong, or if the switch is bad...the kid said the coolant temp switch is bad but i also have no clue on that because of how bad the wiring is...also, when i start the car i have to open the throttle a little bit. its acting like its carbed. if i dont give it gas for about 5 seconds, it will stall.
idk how the kid wired up the harness, but im buying a new civic harness. can one of you guys send me a link on how to modify the harness to work with the civic chassis, and the h22a engine? i cant seem to find it anywhere
