Default b18b1 turbo oil return, oil catch can questions

My turbo sits so low that my return lined is torqued, making it leak. Is there any solutions for this?

Also, I'm looking for a simple oil catch can setup. I don't want to run the ports from the block cause I heard you have to clean the catch can frequently if you use those ports. I was thinking of using the port on the valve cover, and idk where else. Been looking at simple ebay catch cans.

Inputs please! thanks

Post a pic of your return line. As for catch can you can run it off the back of the block or get fittings welded to the valve cover and use those

No I wanted a pic of how your is mounted. You should have no problem routing the drain line with a log mani. What side does your downpipe mount on?

This is the manifold I have. http://www.ebay.com/itm/B16-B18-B-SE...c05019&vxp=mtr

with the angeled fitting from the turbo, it puts it LEVEL with the fitting I welded onto the oil pan, or DAMN near. I need a 10 an braided line without the 90 degree joints like the POS I bought

Well post a pic of how it looks. When I had a drain line similar to that I used the straight fitting on the turbo and the 45 degree fitting to the oil pan and it was mounted perfect

This orange tube looks like a vent. Can I use this on a catch can? I'm looking for a simple catch can setup without using the two holes on the rear of the block, I hear doing it this way fills your catch can quickly.

Ebay fitting like that are always going to leak more then likely you over tightened the fitting. And your return line doesnt look like its mounted good

I think your going to need to fix that fitting on your pan. Your going to want that fitting facing up and not side ways. Your going to want the oil to return smoothly

Agreed, but in going to leave the fitting as is, im sure its fine, i just need to make the line tilted up instead of leveled

Intercooler, manifold, oil lines are ebay.

What if I got rubber hose a little bit smaller of the tread size (10 an) and just slide it over the fitting so its snug, on the oil pan and from my turbo, use a baby metal clamp and call it a day? It is only an oil return line.

-10an works best my friend
you want that oil to return freely and not to sit up in the turbine. if it was an oil catch can return line, then itll be fine. but since this is the turbo the laws change.

For your catch can setup you will want the orange vent hose going to your catch can. Then remove the pcv valve and route that hose to the second inlet of the catch can. Make sure its a vented catch can as well. That should be sufficient enough for a non built engine. As far as the oil drain goes, the ebay fittings suck and you probably tore the oring inside the fitting. Get some quality fittings and try to make it as straight down as possible.

What exactly is behind the black box? (pcv valve)? One port for a hose?

Possibly something like this http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant..._Code=ATP-OIL2 on the turbo should work. Also use the straight an fitting on the oil pan.

And get rid of those worm clamps.

The black box is essentially a stock baffled catch can really. It connects to the block with a fairly large opening to the crankcase. This allows crankcase pressure to go through the box to the pcv valve. However on boosted setup its beter to remove the pcv valve and route the hose from the black box to a catch can along with the hose that comes from the nipple of the valve cover. Then just plug the vaccumline on the intake manifold and you're good to go.

Thats what you get for using a Ebay oil line kit. Get on from Go Autoworks and be done with it.

The vacuum line that connects the pcv valve to the intake manifold. You gotta plug it after removing the pcv valve or you will have a huge vaccum leak.
