Distributor problem?
Ok so I stared my car and went to pull out and it shut off and wouldn't fire back up, I'm pretty sure it's not getting spark, i checked all the fuses and pulled the cap off to check the rotor, the cap and rotor arnt in the best shape but I don't think that's the problem, would my distributor just quit like that? If anyone else had this problem any input would be greatly appreciated, since I'm currently stranded on the side of the road by myself. The cars a 91 DX hatch with the stock d15b2 in it
It can give out at anytime without any warning. You need VERIFY that your not getting any spark. No special tools are required to do this although a metal screwdriver would probably make things a tad bit easier.
I HIGHLY doubt that this is going on but my old CRX's dizzy had a screw come loose and random times it would just die. the screw would keep the part from spinning and sometimes it wouldn't start. the dizzy was still pretty new so i didn't check it for the longest. i doubt thats whats going on but couldn't hurt to open yours up and check it.
