today i traded my broke *** 95 jetta 2.slow for a prelude s the body is rough but compared to the jetta it runs so much better 5 spd mt. 2nd gear grinds (do i need a new clutch?) and a ball joint is going out on the drivers side. other than that the car is in ok shape. it has the typical honda rust in the back. 213k miles interior is a 9/10 but for a jetta with a blown headgasket you cant beat it (hes a euro tuner guy. and wanted a jetta with a sunroof -_-

so im jw since it grinds heavy in 2nd gear will i need a clutch soon?

 

If your clutch was going don't you think you might grind into a few other gears too?
Could be your 2nd gear syncros going out.

 

are synchros expensive?

 

No but if you don't know how to replace them it becomes expensive to pay someone to do it.
