call me crazy..but All of a sudden im grinding when im shifting from 3rd to 4th at high rpm and no other gear, i can down shift perfect..... im talking 4000rpm not even that high . synchros could be bad or this could mean i need a quadrant adjustment?

my question is would any kind of special transmission fluid help the grind im experiencing all of a sudden . its weird i just fixed a axle seal leak i had for along time , now i go in to reverse alot easyer, and now i grind in to 4th? i would think fixing the leak and having a full tranny would mean less problems but i guess its time for a tranny swap

That could have been the problem, short shifters are already bad on transmissions, and yours was loose!

 

i think my shortshifter was a coincident. i got this tranny used. ive been driving around with a tranny i dont know how many miles its been threw or let alone have it looked at so see if the synchros r bad, so i learned ...how to drive stick in this car also ...now when i get my b16 or gsr tranny im going to rebuiled it and take care of it. nothing i can do about it but just drive slow now....i get my tranny in a couple weeks so ill be alright for a lil while longer
