Default My 97 Accord!

Hey guys, pretty new to the forums, Honda, and playing around with cars in general. I've been driving the car for about 3-4 months now (It's my first car), and I'm doing small things to it for now. I plan on lowering it very soon, so I'll be uploading more pictures after I do that.

Heres a few pictures I took this afternoon. (Sorry, it doesn't look that great right now. Saving up some cash for new stuff)
If you have any suggestions, just let me know. I'm open to any ideas. Like I said, I'm pretty new to all of this, so I need a few pointers.

Pretty simple things I have done, or plan on doing:

[x] Black out emblems
[x] Smoke tail-lights
[ ] Tint all windows with 5% (Including a tint strip on windshield)
[x] Throw a windshield decal on
[ ] Lower it
[ ] Install completely clear euro-style headlights (correct me on terminology)
[ ] Throw on some flat black simple rims
[ ] Replace interior with something a little more flashy (Not too flashy though)

Theres a lot more I'll probably think of as the time comes. I have a lot more work I have to do before this thing is a finished product.

Treat it as your own car, and modify it as you see fit. Then you'll be stuntin' fer sure!

To be fair, the styles you're trying to achieve are a bit dated. But, you're the only person that needs to be happy with your car.

Thanks for the heads up. Like I said, I'm open to any suggestions. I'm not really familiar with modifying anything because I've just started driving about 8 months ago, but I'm extremely interested in "decking out" my car. Have any newer ideas for it? :D

Well, the whole "murdered out" look has sort of died out. These days you'll see people getting more creative with their fabrication/custom work. From the engine bay, to the wheel/tire and suspension setups. The most basic ideas seem to work the best. "Keeping it clean" is a mentality that seems to fit most commonly.

Here's some resources to see what people are doing with your specific chassis of Accord:

Really appreciate the help, and pointers man. Looked through those threads and saw a lot of really cool (and clean) cars. I think I'm actually going to take your advice on this one and try to be a little more creative with it. I was actually even thinking about getting it painted a different color since this color seems to be pretty common.

Heres the look I've been planning on. I will probably change a few things though. Just thought this was something good to base off of.
I might get it pained a different color though. Still looking around for colors I might like.

My best advice as someone who has seen a few trends progress and die off, keep the car as clean, simple, and well maintained as you can. Save up money for your mods and plan your mods carefully. Buy quality parts and as many new or like new condition parts as possible. Try not to get caught up in trends and just find your own style.

I like the JDM cd5 cd6 headlights that are black housing personally. And the Mugen grille. 2 of the first mods I would make if i owned that model of car.

Thanks man. Thats good to hear atleast. At my school we have countless amounts of Civic hatchbacks, but it's only me and one other guy with a cd5. So atleast I can have someone to help me out with a few things here and there. :D

This.

Always remember, less is more.

Leave your lighting alone.

Do clean, subtle mods.

Most importantly though, do what makes you happy.

I agree with a lot of this. When I first smoked my tails, I loved it. I'm having second thoughts on it though. I may take it off and leave em the way they are. Not sure yet. I am interested in possibly getting clear corner blinkers though. (Not sure of the correct term for them)
