This is in the wrong section, but hopefully I can help

What kind of rod bolts? Stock? ARP?

ARP has torque specs for all of their kits on their website.

http://arp-bolts.com/pages/technical...html#usrodbolt

Did your buddy install the rod bolts? If they are ARP, you can't just install them and go, the big ends need to be resized because the higher tension bolts tend to distort the rod a little bit. You also need to use proper lubricant or you'll get error in your torque readings. You should also pick up a tension gage from Summit or similar. I don't build many engines, so the cheapo 20 dollar-ish one is fine for me.

Edit: found my spec sheet. For ARP 208-6001, stretch to .0050"-.0055" (recommended) or torque to 26ft-lbf.

Sorry still gettin used to the site, they r arp bolts and studs, and yeah i looked on that site but I told him I need the correct ID number for the bolts to give correct specs, he is doin a b20v, I told him they needed to be gsr so i hope that's what he got, and I read on a thread that u didn't have to use the tension gauge to get the bolts to spec, u can just torque them to spec loosen and repeat a few times and that would stretch the bolts to spec, but Idk if that's true

Gsr are the wrong ones. He needs the LS/D16 ones. The torque specs are the ones I provided, although the stretch method is more precise. And the rods still need to be resized. They are not a drop in replacement.
