Default b16 trans need taller 5th gear

what do i need to put a taller 5th gear in a b16 trans. I know the ls 5th ratio is taller and would work great what would i need to swap that gear in. also is there any other gear ratios that are taller or close to the ls. Thanks

The LS 5th gears have the tallest ratio. It is a simple swap, just remove your B16 5th gears and install the two LS gears.

The 94-97 ITR has the same ratio 5th gears as the S4C. JDM 98-01 ITR has the same as a GSR. The LS has a longer ratio than either the GSR or ITR. We have the LS 5th gears in stock if you need them or you can order them from an Acura Dealer.

i'm thinking about same question also, i'll buy a car soon.. i live away from my parents about 1100kms / 700 miles.. i will need a taller 5th gear ratio, i searched forums and topics about this subject, i calculated that and finally i decided to put S80's 5th gear which have 0.787 gear ratio instead of stock S4C's 5th gear (0.848 gear ratio)..

when you'r rolling, after finished 4th gear, when you put 5th gear it will still keeps vtec at that time. and doing 5mph more @ 3000rpm.. 61mph instead of 56mph
