Hello again guys. I have a 99 Accord LX 4cyl. My pump sarted making a whining noise after driving in downtown Seattle most of the day it seemed to go away after letting it cool while I stopped for about an hour. Question:I have read posts on here that some have flushed the fluid and replaced with new and that fixed the problem. If I need to replace are there good aftermarket brands?

Try replacing 21 and 22:


Use fluid specified for Hondas. If the pump is bad why not a junk yard pump vs. a reman? Probably a quarter of the cost and they're so easy to replace.

 

Thanks I saw that some had to replace those O rings because the originals let air in the system. I will replace the rings and see what happens. Never thought of a junk yard pump, I have purchased body parts from junk yards but never engine parts. I'd be willing to give it a shot.
