99 civic si/89 siR b16A head and block swap/chipped P28 -- only 100 horse power??????
Hello,
I have a 99 civic si with an 89 siR b16A swap head and block. It's running on a 99 em1 tranny. Has DC headers, aem cold air intake, and a 2.5" custom pipping with a high flo cat. I dyno'd it yesterday and it is only pushing 100 horses!!?? Timing is right, valves are adjusted.. Any ideas?

I believe the previous owner blew the engine and swapped it. I bought it like that, and they are known for being capable of handling more power.

If the AFR was in the sweet spot for power during your pulls you should be making more than that. Has the timing been tuned in on your ecu as well? If so, then perhaps it's a weak spark...are the plugs gapped correctly? wires/dizzy in good shape?
My spark plug wires are not so great but that isn't enough to lose roughly 60 hp. My compress is fine, checked that already. THe AFR was perfect. How is it possible to lose so much damn horsepower?
Well the only thing I noticed is that my 3rd gear pull takes forever to wind!! Other than that My 1st-2nd is super fast and I hit 60mph at the end of 2nd gear. It had a compression of 10:3:1..It honestly doesn't feel like 100 horse power
plain and simple its a old worn down motor, op isn't telling us the whole story, sounds about right for a motor that is 20+ years old.
Honda's 160HP rating is at the flywheel
your 100HP is at the wheels
plus 30% of your wheel HP rating and you're about 130HP @ the wheels. take into consideration maintenance (or apparent lack of), age and wear & tear and it is quite understandable how you got that number.
