IIRC, Jeff Evans was using FAST XFI 2.0, and closed loop Co2 for boost control on the 67mm Integra. I believe he'll chime in with more info.

I was gonna say I saw Ricky Everly post up before about running FAST.

I can't see why it wouldn't work great on a Honda, only time we have ever had a issue with FAST was on a 10.5 Outlaw car that ran methanol and had 24 1680cc low Z injectors. We sent the box back to FAST after they gave us the run around for 2 months and the beefed the drivers up. Problem solved.

Compared to a AEM EMS, the FAST will seem limited. Off the top of my head:
1 ignition output so no indv. coils
No VTC control
No 2-step or anti-lag
And IIRC, it uses a fixed trigger pattern so you'd have to use an external crank trigger.

no 2-step or anti-lag. i believe it has a sequential setup that is far superior than AEM, Hondata, etc.

i'm sure Jason and Jeff will chime in at some point.

actually you can use a oem honda distributor, you can also use indivual coils... you have to use the xim ignition module... it does have 2 step and anti lag.... no vtc though....

I realize I'm not the brightest star in the sky, but when comparing bang for buck, is it just me or does the Motec M4 outperform the XFI in comparison to what you can find an M4 for. I was just on Speedpro's website and for a very mild unit it cost lik 2k almost and it still doesnt do half of what an M4 does.

well for 2200 you get a m4 ecu that can control 4 injectors...add near 1000 for advance tuning logging and wideband... thats with out the harness or com cable... so its minimum 3200 to do what a xfi unit can do for under 2000.00 with harness wideband comm cable ability to control 16 injectors etc... ill be the 1st to admit motec has more advance features but your fooling your self if you think you can get into a motec for 2k... unless you get a firesale deal....xfi is definelty not better, but from a budget stand point you cant beat it... It really doesnt matter if you use what you have to it's fullest there are people on here that kick the **** out of guys with motec with s300's...lol.... not guys like Palo or Miller... but their are people with the best that dont run for ****... find what works for you and dial it in....

Fast seems to have a lot of time based features and driver lights, etc...could be very helpful when trying to be a consistent driver, which a lot of people forget to do.

Has both 2 step and anti-lag and does this sequentially (most everything else is random cut mode besides motec). Coil per cylinder is possible with expander module. Crank trigger is superior for timing accuracy, but OEM distributor can be used for cam sync or cam/crank per factory.

Its not sequential, its random cut. Listen to my car, and listen to cars running AEM, Hondata, etc on the rev limiter or launch limiter. You can hear the difference, and there is a big difference on engine longevity in comparison.

XFI has enough features to get a car down the track consistently and reliable. That goes for most EMS systems out there now. Its very repeatable and the hardware is rock solid. It also comes with a built in NTK wideband sensor for closed loop control. My only complaint is the software lacks some advanced logic for programming like Motec, but otherwise it gets the job done. I did alot of trial and error on the new features with the integra last season, and ended up keeping everything very simple and was still able to run well. In comparison motec M4 is so outdated, I believe it has been discontinued from Motec and replaced with the M84 box. Motec is a great product, but getting into a M400 (minimum needed) with lambda, advanced tuning, harness, etc you are looking at 5-6k range easily. That is before a display dash, sensors, etc. Price is justified on the Motec though, the V3 software is so configurable it leaves your head spinning with options.

I ran FAST for years with a distributor and then later ran it on my K series with individual coils and a DIS4 and it was very easy to use. I think it is a good ECU for guys that are just getting into EFI, and you can do a lot with it. Didn't the GM cars run all their low 7s on this?

I switched to AEM and don't plan on switching back.
