Default Can't figure out what motor is in my car.

Okay guys around last fall I bought a 95' DX coupe, bought the car for 700 bucks done a little bit of work to it and put it on the road. Anyway while I was cleaning it up and what not I decided to check what motor was in this car and it does have a vtec head but only running a P06 ecu which I know is non vtec. So I cleaned up where the block stamp is and it reads ZC. and my buddy had one in his 91 si hatch but it was non vtec. Also on mine all the letters are in japanese on the cam gear cover? Just wanted to know what head and block combo this is and if anyone can tell me what I got here?

Couple pictures. http://s1259.photobucket.com/albums/...4-04173039.jpg

Pics would help.

My brother also had a ZC in his EF, it was a non-VTEC.

if its a dual cam it aint vtec. just a 1.6 litre dohc 16 valve non vtec appx 125hp aka poor mans b16, if its a sohc it may just be a d16zc single cam vtec. prolly got from a japanese replacement engine shop and jus thrown in on the stock ecu. picks needed to clarify.

OBD1 SOHC Vtec ZC. Basically identical to a D16Z6.

Bingo!!! I just seent the pics. Thats a cool little motor, there is some miniscule differences between a z6 and a zc but power output will be pretty damn much the same. Thr stamp looks cool tho, clean her off. Get a p28 in there so u can take advantage of that motor in ir ej2.

This p28. Isn't it vtec? Now, which one would I need if it was the non vtec head. Don't plan on making it vtec just yet, I'd rather save up for another swap.

Year+ old thread, guys. Stop bumping it.

daniel, make your own thread, don't hijack others, ESPECIALLY when they're old and dead.

if you already have a vtec motor in your car, why not take advantage of it? especially if its as easy as swapping in a new ecu

Um, why are you being a jerk? And plus, it gives an advantage to keep information alive to not start up more threads to make it even more impossible to find. And since you noticed that I've been doing this and not even with intentions, im pretty sure you noticed my own thread? So why haven't you posted on it instead of starting problems. Look dude, I'm new here, I apologize for "bothering" you. (Dying of laughter Inside to how dumb this is). Grow up. Correct me if im wrong, but This site was made for info.

Well you make a good point, the thing is I don't want to spend more money especially if I'm gonna go bigger on a swap after I get everything set, like smogged and registration and plus, I still live with my parents, so they don't want me racing, err even havin the idea and I live in California so I don't want to get my **** jacked. I love my Honda. . Lol. But my motor is non vtec, and to make it vtec I need an ecu and the head right? From a z6. Correct me if I'm missing something.

Well I don't have the ecu. But this is some of the info I got. http://www.hondata.com/ecus.html and I've heard in some threads about a p27. Which is non vtec. Right?
