Default Precision 5 bolt DP flange Question! PICS***

So i recently bought a SC6162 w/ a 5 bolt .63 AR. I have a 3" Full Race Down Pipe that i would like to use and have to decide on which Flange. My question is......i keep finding flanges that do not have a small opening to match the turbo's small opening. Looks to be like an exit for a internal wastegate? Is this supposed to be blocked off? Also i cant seem to find a 3" 5 Bolt flange, do i just purchase the 5 bolt to 3" Vband setup? Which would be fine since i have to fab a vband or 5 bolt flange onto my DP anyway. Here are some pics as examples.

well, first, you're comparing a mercedes 5 bolt with your SC61 Ford-style 5 bolt flange. Those are different flanges that you're showing.

Second, you are correct, the hole is for an internal wastegate (which doesn't work well on SC61s, trust me), and ALL downpipe flanges for it are made to cover that hole. You would have to take your current flange and cut out that portion of the flange to fit your internal wastegate (again, a bad idea to utilize for that size of a turbocharger.)

just the man i wanted to chime in! Well, that's what comes up when i type in Ford 5 Bolt. I saw in a previous post you had mentioned the Mercedes flange, so naturally i didn't want to show a wrong picture, but did anyway lol. I do not at all plan on running an internal gate. Actually you had advised me that my 39mm Precision Gate was sufficient for my 600whp goal, so thats what im using. So.....should i just buy the flange and let it cover over that hole? Also still don't know that anyone sells a 3" 5 bolt, so would the 5bolt to vband be my best answer to the 3" DP?

Yea that hole will need to get covered up by the DP flange or you will leak large amounts of exhaust gas and the turbo will not spool.

Might be worth while to get a new turbine housing with the 4-bolt "GT-Style" (originated on the GT3xR series turbos, I believe) turbine outlet, or just a straight up V-band outlet.

That will not fit on his exhaust wheel and cartridge. the GT3XR cartridge has a different diameter and wheel that do not cross over.

I understand that, but doesn't PTE offer a .63 and .82 A/R T3 turbine housing with the 4-bolt flange for their 62mm turbine? I wasn't trying to say that a GT35R turbine would fit on his wheel.

Yes. That's definitely different from what you stated earlier. Using a PTE housing may have a better likelihood than anything else. Remember, PTE uses a unique v-band diameter that only ATPTURBO may supply in the way of vband flanges. With the adapter, he'll pay less and use Garrett sized flanges that fit more properly
