Generally yes, but some are different.
Mine for example (AIG) considers any 2 door Integra a sports car, whether it is an RS or GSR. I believe the Type R is the same, but I didn't bother to ask.
Sucks for me since my parents bought my LS (rather than a GSR) for me because they thought insurance would be cheaper. Damn, I could have gotten a GSR. Oh well, at least mine's faster than a GSR now.

im thinkin about tradin in my 95 ls coupe for a gsr. i just wanted to know if the insurance would be higher. i also thought that most insurance companies r the same about that stuff i asked.
My 95 GSR is $75 a month for full coverage. Have a totally clean driving record and "Good Student" discount. It'll vary from company to company, my car isnt considered a sports car (thank god they havent seen the car)!

damn, im with the wrong company. my insurance is 350 a month. i have 2 points on my record which will clear next october. Its raping my wallet. that is the only thing holding me back from hooking up my car. that sucks!
