Scraping noise in front wheel?
I have an auto 99 ex 4cyl with a 6 month old rebuilt trans and new axles as well as brakes. Recently I got this "rotational" metal scraping noise whenever I turn right in my front passenger wheel. It sounds exactly like the dust shield got bent and is touching the rotor. Every rotation you hear it scrape. I took it all apart and there is no sign of anything rubbing or even near. Also nothing stuck in there. If I turn left I barely hear it and going straight its like 50/50. Any idea what this could be? The only thing I could think of is a dragging caliper. The rotor shows no signs of the caliper being locked up but when I did the brakes I noticed it didn't compress 100%, probably 90% but far enough that it wasn't going to drag. But if the caliper is dragging then I would "always" hear the sound, this is every rotation, unless the rotor is slightly warped enough to catch the pad each time but the rotors feel smooth. My other question/worry is could the axle or trans make this noise??
I replaced both front wheel bearings and now I have drag on the front left (driver) wheel. It acts as if it doesn't want to roll at all then it makes a c=scraping noise. Any suggestions?
