i just replace head gasket on my db8 b20 vtec
double check all the connector n hose n everything is hook up right..
all it does is cranking n there a loud clicking noise but wont turn over...
what could be the problem?

 

check your firing order. if that's correct, check for spark. if you have spark, check for fuel

 

ill check the spark.

when i crank it all my lights dim down..
could it be the battery or maybe no gas..

 

charge up the battery.
and you checked firing order?

what about mechanical timing? you check that?
pull one of the plugs and see if there's fuel on it
did you remember to connect the thermostat ground cluster?
matter of fact, check/clean all your grounds

 

clicking noise? double check all grounds, make sure your battery is fully charged.

 

i double check the ground and it was all good...
i listen to where the clickin noise was coming from n its sounds like it coming from the cly 4 area..

should i take it apart again n triple check on it or take it to a shop.?

 

Is your mechanical timing dead on?

 

i should check that.. i need a timing gun to do this..

you can't check ignition timing without the car running. you want to check mechanical timing. that is, the timing in relation to the crank and cams

 

put the engine at top dead center and pull the valve cover off and see if you have the valve timing correct. if it seems correct try spining your dizzy 180 degrees and reinstall.. just because ur ignition timing is off you car should start..just run like **** tho..
