Alright HT I'm having an issue with my car starting up. When I turn the ignition on I hear the starter click once and when I release the ignition I can hear it stop. Its not a constant cranking or anything like that. Just the one click. I thought the starter was stuck so I replaced it along with the battery. I got both checked at an Autozone and they read fine. I hooked it up to.another car for a jump and it quickly started. Not sure if its a short or something else. Need help. Thanks guys.

 

I'm having similar problems with my car right now as well. When you hear the click is it from inside the cab, on the solenoid, or both? Things to check would be all your grounds that is often the problem i.e. thermostat ground, trans to chassis ground etc. Also try running a jumper wire from the starter to the battery to bypass the ignition system.

 

What resistance do you measure between the transmission ground wire and the negative battery post?

 

I don't have the tools to get that :-( funny thing is I tried to start it from the power post to the starter and got no spark and no crank.

 

That's because you may have a ground problem. Check the G3 transmission and the battery ground wires and their connections to the chassis.

 

Will do. I'll let u know if it fixed it. Just to let u know the car still starts up when it wants to. Oh I for got to add that I hear the click from the starter sorry Tkrizz

 

Bump I'm having the same problem. Pretty sure it's the grounds.
Can anyone tell me the amount of grounds needed and location please?
