wtf vtec?
ok so the other day did the second oil change on the b16b and now i am getting code 21. i have tried other ecu and they come up coolant temp and code 22. thats pr3 and p61 i think. now i put 12v to solenoid and i hear the click . also i took valve cover off and saw cams spraying with oil. i tried the whole vtec side of the head with my b16 same thing. i also ran another wire from ecu and same thing. now when i drive the car and start it when its under load when vtec will engage the code will go away . but when i am back at idle at a light she comes back on. now wtf is going on?
i want to eliminate oil pressure , now at idle with the side of the vtec oil pressure switch be filled with oil? or since it drained changing it will be dry till 5800?
The first step is know what the codes you are pulling actually mean.

The P61 is a GSR OBD-1 ECU and that I am aware of the PR3 is only OBD-0... Now I could be wrong on the PR3 as I am not on par with non-USDM stuff. Regardless your codes are for the VTEC Spool Valve and the VTEC Pressure switch.
The only real causes of these codes are but not limited to:
- Bad Wiring
- Low Oil/Nasty Oil
- Clogged screens or Ports
- Bad Sensor/Solenoid
- Low Oil Pressure
- Bad pin on ECU
...and probably a few more I can't think of right now. What bewilders me is that you are running a CTR engine on those ECU's...

the pr3 i have is the rare obd1 GSR ecu its the same thing as the p61.
i ended up trying my ecu in my friends GSR 4 door ef and he threw code 21.
so i picked up a new jdm p30 and its all gone.
Thanks much for the info but i knew there was no wiring problem's or oiling or dirty screens ,sensors and resistance from sensors to ecu were legit and in working order. i eliminated all those before posting.
