Icon2 Oil on Spark Plug Tip

I just swapped my JDM GSR Motor into my 95 Integra. The motor BOGS when accelerating in every gear (It did not do this when it was in my 90 Integra). I thought maybe it was the spark plugs. Pulled them out and all 4 had oil on the tip. Looked down one hole and saw a pool of oil inside. What is going on?

Thank You All In Advance!

spark plug tube seals in the valve cover are likely leaking

sounds like two issues. at least could be. one is the leaking valve cover, second is timing, either cam timing or ignition timing. fix the valve cover first, then check ignition timing. if your spark cylinders are full of oil you could potentially be grounding out spark to the block via the oil making the wires leak

oil is an extremely poor conductor of electricity. it won't ground the spark. the oil in the spark plug tubes will cause resistance though, and that's where the poor ignition is likely coming from

mmm.. it's enough to cause problems. i remember one SBC that had a lot of blow by, shot oil out the breather. anyway, new wires, ran okay, pissed oil all over wires, looked 2 weeks later and you could see the blue lights at night from the wires leaking due to the oil soak and the spark grounding to wherever it cold.

this car also had the same issue. knocking, sluggish etc

a valve cover set and different spark plug wires would absolutely be where i start with the OP

the oil could cause deterioration. absolutely. but itself, will not conduct electricity

LOL, as if it matters

the point is that oil soaked spark wires can leak, can cause knock and can cause bogging.

saying otherwise is misleading to someone troubleshooting

9 times out of 10, you brake clean the plug wire boots off thoroughly, replace the tube seals, maybe do the plugs as well, and you're good to go. but hey, recommend whatever you like.

oh stop being an ***

once wires oil soak they can be compromised. i've seen it, tried it, watched it with my own eyes

well, tbh, i never said that from the start. all i said was that the oil could not ground the spark. that was all i was saying.

you're right though. once rubber is oil soaked, it's irreversible. the wires should be changed. that was hack advice on my part

i apologize if i was bein a dick.
let's let bygones be bygones, shall we?
