So, long time lurker here, and I've run into a problem I can't seem to find an answer to.

I'm in the middle of a radiator replacement, during which I was planning on replacing the lower radiator hose. I purchased and ordered the hose from Autozone, but when I got the part in-hand it appears as if it's 1-2/8th inch small in diameter than the stock hose. Am I missing something? Does the stock hose expand over it's life to be a bit larger? I can't get the new part onto the engine side no matter what I do (silicon grease/spray).

Has anyone had this issue before? Should I return and order the part oem from hondaautomotiveparts.com? Is there a trick to getting the hose on?

They gave you the wrong hose. Either bring it back and raise hell screaming and kicking or compare part numbers and nicely ask for the correct part like a sir.

You shouldn't too much trouble with the return, I never have when there's been a mistake, especially when it's on their end.

 

Yea they will have ur bak bro. They have a decent rep fpr easy returns, like other dude said wen its their mistake the will usualy more than make up for it. Good luck!

 

probably gave you a d-series hose, autozone/kragen always **** **** like that up lol

 

Sounds like they gave you a 99 civic dx hose, cause i have both at my house and the size difference is like you were describing.

yup...as covered...they gave you a d series hose. Make sure its for the b16 engine

 

Lol, I'm not particularly specialized it mechanic work, and I don't often have much to add that others haven't said already. So I just lurk in the corner picking up all the tips/tricks I need

Yup, they gave you a SOHC hose.

They should pay for shipping, just give them a call.
