Tips for removing the crankshaft pulley bolt?
I started changing my timing belt but got stuck at the crankshaft pulley bolt. Neither of my impact guns could get it off. I tried turning the compressor pressure up to 125 psi and still nothing. So I took off the starter and put a big screwdriver in the flywheel teeth. I still couldn't get it to budge with a breaker bar so I put a 4 foot pipe over it and tried again. My 1/2" extension snapped. That extension and my impact gun have gotten a lot of tough bolts off and haven't failed me ever. So I know it's not just my tools. I don't have cheap tools either.
What else can I do? I was gonna stop by a few shops to see if they have a stronger gun but most of them were already closed so I'm stuck for now.

A impact with 1200lb's of brake away torque....
Or a breaker bar, with a big *** cheater pipe.
Use a jack stand to set the extentensions on to keep them flat.
These bolts really suck. Has the car already been taken apart?

As you can see, the breaker bar with big *** cheater pipe snapped my extension lol.
It was taken apart but I put it all back together because I need a car to drive.
I will go to a few shops and see if they have a better gun. Mine is 600 lb max for reverse and that didn't do a thing.
I just want to know what else you guys do to get these off. I've always just used my impact gun without a problem

Rent this tool. Youll NEED this tool unless you have the world strongest compressor ever.
You put in inside of the crank, and you put a half inch ratchet on it to hold it. Then with another half inch breaker bar, you break the bolt loose.
When I was stuck on that bolt I tried everything from drowning it PB blaster, putting a torch to it, 3 different compressors and nothing. Once I got that tool from Pep Boys, I had it off in under 2 minutes.
That tool are a must have for this job, NO MATTER what. You have to have one.

Torch the bolt, when its still hot hit it with the impact and it will spin off easy,try it before u knock it a simple torch will work,trick that my boy showed me.
my cheapass harbor freight impact has taken about 100 off. id warm it up slightly. not alot since the pulley has rubber in it than cool it quickly. sometimes it works for me.
if thats doesnt work what i do is hold the flywheel and use a breaker bar. that snapon extension is cheap if it broke i use cheap tools and they wont break. unles its not rated for impacts

Can't use the starter method because the engine and bolt spin in the same direction.
So what seal can get damaged if it's heated up too much? The front main? Because I have a new one anyways.

That tool is $120 at Honda. I tried everything to get mine out. I was screwed cuz engine wasn't in car! Had to take mine to a shop and it came out like butter then found out my bro had the tool.

I used to think it was hard to work on hondas
Then my mom got a chevy malibu. This was about 10 years ago, when they had notorious IM leaks. To change an IM gasket in a gm, it literally is easier to just pull the engine out the car.
Took me damn near 2 full days to change the gasket, and I had a cousin helping that was a ASE. We had to take so many things apart, just to get to the IM gasket.
Then 2 months later, it was all over again because the timing chain needed changing.
The next day, she traded it in on an accord. Never again will I wrench on a gm.
I agree that the crank bolt pulley is a bitch *til you have the tool/good air tools* however you can still bring it to a shop, pay 5, have them back it off for you, and go home and change your timing belt in a good 3 hours. Then have another 6 years of driving headache free. On american cars, you are lucky to get 6 years driving without changing the whole motor. In hondas you swap the motors because you desire more power, then some kid buys your old motor, beats on it for 5 years, and it still runs. Not so much on the americans. My buddy has a ford lighting and we always joke that the 5.4 engine is a "wear item" since he's on his 4th motor in 3 years , lol.
