Build up of Ralphie my EK
So I recently traded my GSR for a 1997 Honda Civic Cx. Bone Stock except for Neuspeed lowering springs and half a front bumper. His name is Ralphie. When I got the car it was believed to have a bad throw out bearing, upon further inspection it seemed to be the Input Shaft bearing. So I sourced a D15b8 trans from my buddy Mike and installed it, along with all new brakes. Then I set out on it's first voyage down to Arkansas from Kentucky, I averaged 43 MPG. That's with very bad exhaust and missing the secondary o2 Sensor. Once I made it down to Arkansas I finished installing my head unit and had exhaust done by a local shop. Spent an afternoon detailing the car using turtle wax trim restorer, color back, and quick wax. I'm pleased with how it turned out for a quick detail. My front bumper finally came in from autoparts warehouse, the fitment is somewhat subpar. My fenders are bent a little and my hood needs alignment so I took that into account. I've got more parts ordered so some updates in the next week or so. This years plans are look to hit 50mpg with stock aero and start coming out to some auto-x events. I drive about 1000 miles per week for work so the D is here to stay for awhile. On to the pictures, I'm using my iphone so bare with me.

update this week's trip back home to Kentucky from Little Rock averaged in at 44.9 so the exhaust did help alot. Hoping to get the time to do my secondary o2 sensor this week. Still waiting on parts. Contemplating ordering a Scan Gauge 2.

So I picked up some HECKACOOL baby shades for my car this week. Today My order came in from JDMdecals so I went ahead and slapped them on. About halfway through that the big brown truck pulled up in my driveway. Thanks to Joe from Discount Tire Direct for the extra discount and getting them to me so fast. My order from JHPUSA still hasn't shown up so I had to run to Oreily's and pickup a set of "tuner" lugs for the time being. Headed to the gym now then to work so I'll put them on when I get there. More updates coming soon. My son was very happy about the new wheels.

Thanks guys wheels are under the cardboard. Nothing fancy just some knockoffs that are lighter than stock. Will help out with my mpgz and auto-x. I'll post pictures after I get them mounted.
Sorry I haven't updated, wheels are on. Thanks again to Joe at Discount Tire Direct. My Scan Gauge ii came in thanks to the guys from thinkgeek.com for getting it to me so quick, really excited about it. Still waiting on my lugs to show up from JHP. Next line of business is a front lip, new seat (the stock CX seat is killing my back.), and hopefully a new wing. It'll be about a month until I order more parts. I'll stay busy with detailing in the mean time. We pretty well took over the parking lot at work, thanks to my friends for helping me out. Can't lift much with my bum wrist.

Lewis enjoying the hard work he did.. haha

Car all washed up for the trip back home this weekend. Put in a set of NGK Iridium's yesterday, got my o2 sensor done last week. First real trip with my scan gauge ii will post results of the trip on Monday. Still waiting on some parts from JHP and for my new steering rack and shifter bushings to come in. Hopefully get to pull out the seats and shampoo and vacuum the interior next week.
I named it after this guy.

thanks man I appreciate it.
lol still waiting on a few little things I ordered, gotta keep this thing alive bro.
Thanks man, hoping to have some more updates pretty soon.
226 Miles for the week with 5.6 gallons. Topped off before I left base last night on my trip back up to Ky for the weekend. Averaged 44 MPG on the Scan Gauge ii with mixed city highway average speed of 64 mph. Hoping to run a WAI setup soon and maybe do some fabricating on my old beat up bumper looking to do an upper and lower grille block. I'd like to see the 50 MPG mark, looking into running a different weight oil possibly too. We'll just have to see. Still waiting on my parts from JHP they finally processed yesterday after waiting 12 days, not very happy with that considering I paid extra for shipping. Hopefully USPS can get them here next week. JHP informed me that Buddy Club drop shipped their end of the order direct from the warehouse. So this afternoon I checked the mail and we'll I'm very happy. Onward to some pictures.

honestly I'm in love with it. It's very accurate and has so many features and gauges built in. Mine is working wonders for me, I'm still learning as I go. The ability to scan a clear codes via the dash is obviously a huge perk. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to improve their MPGs and learn a little about how their car is running.

You're saving that car, it looked awful at the start. Good work, keep it up!
