Default 99 prelude

Looking to buy a 99 prelude with 189k. I know about civics and accords but clueless with this one. I know you are suppose to run premium but has anyone else ran unleaded or unleaded plus in one this yr and mileage. Wanted to know if it would be a good/bad idea and why.
Thx!!

Default Re: 99 prelude

91 octane or higher. if you run lower than this it can cause predetanation or spark knock which the knock sensor will detect and then the ecu will pull timing so the engine can run safely. when it pulls timing you will lose power and lose fuel mileage plus it can also cause carbon build up. So only use good gas.
