Default Ferrea valve spring advice for turbo application?

Just needed some advise from some of you that are running Ferrea valvetrain in your race engines.

I'm in the process of getting parts together for my build this season and I have decided on going with a full Ferrea valvetrain setup. I'm talking valves, spring seat locators, valve springs, retainers, valve locks, the whole 9.

My hang-up is trying to figure out what part number of spring I should be running. Ive searched and really cant find any useful info on this.

I'm running Skunk2 Pro1 cams in my head and it looks like the Ferrea part number of the valve springs that I need to use is S10064. Is there any guru's on here that can confirm this for me?

Specs on these springs are:
Seat pressure- 95lbs
Open pressure- 215lbs
Rate/inch- 305lbs
Coil bind- 19mm
Max net lift- 14mm

Thanks in advance guys.

I called them about the pro 1s and gave them the spec of those cams and they told me the part number of the springs i needed was s10027.

Ya I looked at that part number but wasnt sure about them because on the Ferrea site it listed the S10064 as a "Turbo" application.

Are you talking about the s10027 springs Luke?

The specs of the 2 springs (s10027 and s10064) differ but would it be just as simple as going with the heavier spring?

S10064
Specs on these springs are:
Seat pressure- 95lbs
Open pressure- 215lbs
Rate/inch- 305lbs
Coil bind- 19mm
Max net lift- 14mm

S10027
Specs on these springs are:
Seat pressure- 100lbs
Open pressure- 220lbs
Rate/inch- 305lbs
Coil bind- 20mm
Max net lift- 13.5mm

Neither. I'll be back in the country Tues/Wed give me a call and I will show you which springs. I have them at the shop.

Word. The next size up that they have is the S10086 which says "This spring requires Ferrea Roller Rocker #RR1000"

......

Luke, what are you trying to get me into?!

Thanks for the input! How long have you been running the Pro1's with the s2 springs and retainers? What are the specs of the springs you are running? My plans are to mainly run my car at the track, but I will drive it around town on the weekends. I just dont want to induce alot of valvetrain wear if I can avoid it. I plan on keeping it below 800whp.

Awesome. Thats really good at that power level. I have been told not to use s2 prings and retainers but it seems that there are alot of people having good luck with their valvetrain products. What do you rev it out to? I just dont want to float a valve but if you have had good luck with it for 2 years, you are doing something right.

I venture to say that eventually I'll run a webcam setup with roller rockers but for now I just want to get the car together and make it last to where I can learn how to drive it

im planning on using standard custom grind webcams not the rollers ones...

revving it up to 9800-10k

if i can do it all over again, i will go straight with ferrea...

Does anyone else have any input on which Ferrea springs will best suit my application?

I'll just say that stock cams out performed them BY a mile in everyway possible..

I have not run stock cams in a while. I did run Pro1's (should of tryed Tuner2's) for a while and they are by far a better choice over the Webs. Even thought they are bigger then the Webs they spooled better and made alot more power. Just an over all better choice..

For this year I stepped out side of the box alittle to try something that I've learned from testing a bunch of different cams.. So far I'm quite pleased with the results but, I only have a hand full of passes on them now. Only time will tell.
