Default Going from MPFI D15B2 to OBD1 D16Z6 got a couple questions

So on Saturday I picked up a 91 DX 4dr only running on 3 cyls for $400 and after a comp/leakdown test #3 was making 0psi and leaking it all from the exhaust valve. So I thought that I'd just park it till I got a vtec head for my 88 then just use my old head on the 91.... then I found someone parting out an EG hatch EX model and he's selling me the motor and ecu for $200!!!! Its still in the car in good running condition too!

So I've already got all the info for the OBD1 conversion but I'm wondering what all work I should do to these motors while I have them out of the car? I'm probably going to replace the clutch and pressure plate on the 88 and have the flywheel resurfaced and also do the timing belt but the 91 is an auto so should I look into replacing the torque converter and have the flywheel resurfaced on the too or would that be a waste? Oh and should I get a clutch for a the engine year or for the tranny year? I'm worried that the 88 clutch may have problems with the vtec power
